Toronto-based alternative rock group LOVE BRKN today released a new single “Dead Weight”. The track is accompanied by a music video directed by Bad Beard and Justyn Moro, which you can check out below.

Songwriter and frontman Justin Benlolo says of ‘Dead Weight,’ “We’ve all had a time over the past few years where we’ve felt useless. There was nowhere to go and nothing to do. I was sitting on this song idea, but I never knew what it meant to me until it all disappeared. What I once felt as an anguished teenager was coming back and this song became a way to channel my inner dialogue.

In a way, the song is really about the dangers of your own mind and where it goes when you least expect it. Sometimes it feels good to lean in the dark and know there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. That being said, we’re dying to release this and show the world what BRKN LOVE’s next step looks like! Coupled with a clip that we literally shot within three days of changing our lead single, I have to say that’s our favorite thing to do so far. Stay tuned for more as we have so much more. Let’s rock and roll.

Led by convincing Justin Benlolo, BRKN LOVE’s “Dead Weight” signals the band’s first new music since their covers of Post Malone’s “Allergic” and Bishops Briggs’ “River”.

“River” was specifically recorded for a special deluxe version of their debut album and went on to become something of a viral sensation, with over 40,000 unique videos featuring the track created on TikTok with over 825 million views in total. , and 38 million additional views across all other user-generated content platforms.
