The Canadian Country Music Association® expands the list of nominees for the 2022 Ccma Awards with additions to the Spotify Female Artist of the Year and Amazon Music and Alexa Fans’ Choice categories

Following a review of eligibility period data, the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) today added two additional nominations to the previously released list of nominees for the upcoming 2022 CCMA Awards presented by the TD. MacKenzie Porter and The Reklaws will both receive additional nods, with Porter being added to Spotify’s Female Artist of the Year category and The Reklaws receiving a nod in the Amazon Music and Alexa Fans’ Choice Award. Winners will be announced Sept. 11 as part of the 2022 CCMA Awards Presented by TD broadcast live from Calgary, AB on Global at 8 p.m. ET.

Earning his fifth #1 (“Pickup”) earlier this year, MacKenzie Porter broke records in the US this year, holding the No. 1 spot on the US charts for six weeks alongside Dustin Lynch (“Thinking ‘Bout You) , Porter now holds three 2022 CCMA Awards presented by TD Nominations — Spotify Female Artist of the Year, Songwriter(s) of the Year and Video of the Year in addition to a special mention in the Country Music Program or Special of the Year category for Bell Media’s year-end special which she co-hosted with Dustin Lynch.

Coming off their third No. 1 earlier this month (“11 Beers” featuring Jake Owen) and breaking the record for the fastest domestically certified platinum single (“What The Truck”) in country music history Canadian during the 2022 eligibility period, The Reklaws are now seeing nominations in three categories for the upcoming CCMA Awards in Group or Duo of the Year and Interactive Artist of the Year as well as new categories Amazon Music and Alexa Fans’ Choice.

Spotify EQUAL first partnered with the CCMA in 2022, presenting the Spotify Female Artist of the Year category. Spotify’s EQUAL program was created to demonstrate its commitment to advancing equity for women in audio and celebrating their global contributions. This year, Tenille Arts, Lindsay Ell, Robyn Ottolini, Meghan Patrick, MacKenzie Porter and Tenille Townes will be vying for victory in Calgary.

With the winner chosen by country music fans across Canada, the Amazon Music and Alexa Fans’ Choice nominees were also expanded today, highlighting 11 nominees including Tenille Arts, Dean Brody, Jade Eagleson, High Valley, James Barker Band, Brett Kissel, Tyler Joe Miller, Robyn Ottolini, The Reklaws, Dallas Smith and Tenille Townes. Voting for Amazon Music and Alexa Fans’ Choice Award is now open. Fans can vote online by visiting ccmafanvote.com or using the appropriate hashtag on Twitter. The hashtags are:
