The United States-based National Lacrosse League (NLL) has entered into a full broadcast agreement with TSN to broadcast live matches and other lacrosse content on the linear and live streaming platforms of the Canadian sports broadcaster of pay TV for the first time since 2016.
The 14-team NLL, which is slated to kick off its season in December with five Canadian franchises, said the new deal is its most comprehensive media deal in Canada since its inception.
The multi-year broadcast partnership covers exclusive rights to the regular season’s most popular weekly game, as well as full playoff coverage, including the NLL Championship Series. TSN will also broadcast NLL coverage on its digital platforms, TSN.ca and the TSN app.
The deal comes just weeks after retired Canadian sports stars Wayne Gretzky and Steve Nash were named alongside Alibaba co-founder Joseph Tsai, also a Canadian citizen, as owners of a new NLL team. in Las Vegas.
