Little Simz – who released Exclaim’s best album! from 2021 with Sometimes I could be introverted – canceled his upcoming North American tour, citing financial and mental difficulties.

The tour, which was scheduled to begin on May 1, included stops in Toronto and Montreal on May 17 and 18 respectively. In a statement posted to his social media, Simz wrote:

Hey guys, due to unforeseen circumstances, I had no choice but to postpone my US tour. I take my concerts seriously and I would like to give you only the best of me. As an independent artist, I pay out of pocket for everything that encompasses my live performances and touring the US for a month would leave me in a huge deficit. Even though it pains me not to see you right now, I’m just not able to put myself through this mental stress.

Although she only mentions the “American tour” in the statement, it seems very likely that the canceled dates include her Canadian shows.

“It’s important for me to speak my truth about this and be honest,” his statement continued. “I appreciate the love and excitement you have to see me live. Rest assured I’ll be here soon, back bigger and better.”

She then closed the statement by teasing new music: “Right now, I’m creating and working on art that I’m passionate about. Music of course, but other things too; it all comes together. rising to greater heights.”
