Eva Mendes Reacts to Ryan Gosling’s Ken in Barbie Movie: That’s My Ken


Actress Eva Mendes shares her reaction to her partner Ryan Gosling’s colorful and sexy look as Ken in Greta Gerwig’s upcoming Barbie movie.

Eva Mendes shared her reaction to Ryan Gosling’s look as Ken from the next Barbie live action movie. While the eponymous Mattel toy line has spawned a full multimedia franchise consisting of a series of computer-animated films and television specials, the next film from Little woman Director Greta Gerwig is the first live-action film based on the fashion doll. Previously, Barbie was in development at other studios, with Amy Schumer and Anne Hathaway attached as previous choices for the title role. But after WB acquired the film rights, Margot Robbie was cast as Barbie, with Ryan Gosling later joining Ken, Barbie’s male counterpart.


While the plot details on Barbie continue to hold tight, WB was generous enough to delight fans with some first images from the film. At its CinemaCon presentation in April, the studio unveiled the first-ever look at Robbie’s character, as she posed in her signature convertible against a hot pink Barbie-style ensemble, sporting a bright smile and channeling classic outfits. Earlier this month, the studio broke the internet after taking a look at Ken de Gosling from Barbie. Authentically portrayed as the male doll, the two-time Oscar nominee looked impossibly amazing in the new image, with his beach-blonde hair, faded denim jacket and glowing physique that sent Twitter into a frenzy. Fan reactions to Gosling’s Ken have been overwhelmingly positive, and now the actor’s partner has shared an opinion on his characterization.

Gosling’s The place Beyond the Pines co-star and his partner of 11 years, Mendesrevealed his reaction to Gosling’s gaze as Ken from Barbie on Instagram. Like many others, Gosling’s Barbie The character left Mendes stunned, who exclaimed in the post that the photo was “So F. Funny,” and “So F. Good,” and that she is “So F. With a star-studded ensemble that includes America Ferrera, Simu Liu, Kate McKinnon, Ariana Greenblatt, Alexandra Shipp, Emma Mackey, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Issa Rae, Michael Cera, Rhea Perlman, Hari Nef, Ncuti Gatwa and Will Ferrell, from Gerwig Barbie will reportedly include several Kens and Barbies. Rae and Nef would play other versions of the fashion doll, while Gatwa and Liu will also play Ken in addition to Gosling. Different characters will have different designs, although nothing can be said for sure until more promotional material from Barbie arrived.

Mendes’ support for Gosling’s Ken, as well as general enthusiasm for Barbiecements the upcoming film as one of the most anticipated films of 2023.
