Chris Pratt’s new movie, a sixth Purge movie, and more!


This week, like every other week, features an incredible selection of cinema-related news; form first-look images to Black friday, to a new trailer for Humans, to the news that we could finally see a trailer for Light year, with Chris Evans in the iconic lead role. Chris Pratt to direct new action comedy, Stranded Asset

Chris Pratt, best known for his role as Peter Quill in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), has signed on to lead a new action comedy for Universal.

Standard active is set to star as Pratt, alongside co-star of The war of tomorrow (2021), Sam Richardson.

Plot details are being kept under lock and key for now, it seems, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get excited about it. Pratt is known for his truly brilliant sense of humor and his ability to deliver lines that require seriousness as well as comedy.

An action comedy looks like the perfect movie for Pratt, and we can’t wait to find out more about Standard active.

A new Lost Boys movie is in the works

A brand new Lost boys the film, which is set in modern times, is currently in development with actor Noah Jupe from both A quiet place films, and Jaeden Martell from THIS franchise.

The lost boys is an iconic and beloved 1987 vampire horror film, directed by Joel Schumacher. The movie is still adored today because of its incredible soundtrack and the perfect cast inside.

The original film followed two brothers and their divorced mother on the move to California. After their arrival, however, they realize that the city is plagued by beastly bikers; and worse yet, they’re all vampires.

Details are unknown for the new film’s plot, but with Jupe and Martell being no strangers to horror, their cast is set to make waves.

The Humans trailer has arrived

The trailer for Humans, an adaptation of Tony’s award-winning Broadway play, was released by A24 and shows a very spellbinding Thanksgiving dinner.

The plot of the play centers on the Blake family, who meet in a not too impressive New York apartment, as they face the horrors and struggles of mental illness and try to survive in the economy.

While it’s unclear whether the film will follow the play’s narrative, what we do know is who will star. Richard Jenkins, June Squibb and The walking dead actor Steven Yeun was chosen, along with Jayne Houdyshell and Beanie Feldstien.

The first images of Black Friday unveiled

Black friday, an upcoming horror film starring Devilish death Bruce Campbell icon and Final destination actor Devon Sawa posted some footage to excite audiences for the chaos to come.

Campbell is of course widely known for his role as Ash in Devilish death (1981), as he is still praised for his role in the franchise to this day. Black friday will reportedly see Campbell and Sawa battling alien-controlled shoppers on famous Black Friday.

The movie set in a toy store, where parasitic humans have multiplied, Black friday belongs to a specific sub-genre of films set in retail spaces. With little space to work, Black friday could use it and create a brilliant horror movie.

The film will premiere later this month (September 2021) at Fantastic Fest.

Finch poster unveiled, with Tom Hanks

Apple and Amblin unveil first-ever poster of Bullfinch (previously titled biography), which highlights the eccentric family of Tom Hanks.

The drama stars Tom Hanks (Castaway, Forrest Gump, The green Line) as the star of the robotics engineer show. He is one of the few survivors of a destructive solar event that left the world a baron and a desolate desert.

He builds a robot to take care of his dog when he can’t anymore, and the unlikely trio set off across the American West as Finch (Hanks) wishes to show the robot the wonders of life and what it means to ‘to be alive ; while trying to make love the dog and the robot.

Bullfinch will arrive on Apple TV + on November 5, 2021.

Sixth Purge movie script supposedly finished

James DeMonaco, creator of The purge franchise, confirms that the script for the unnamed sixth film has been written and will feature a “remapped” America.

The franchise began in 2013 and followed a wealthy family as, after an unexpected event, tried to survive the Purge; an event in which America legalizes all crime for 12 hours, even murder.

Since then, four more films have been added to the franchise, with The purge forever being the most recent installment. Whether you’re excited for another chaotic movie or not, it’s good to know that Frank Grillo (MCU franchise, Copshop) will reprise his role as Leo Barnes once again.

Plot details and fan reactions are still pending, and our eyes will be open for any further information.

Pixar’s Lightyear trailer could be released in November 2021

Fans may finally get their first look at Pixar Light year, the next animated film starring Chris Evans voicing the main character Buzz Lightyear, in November 2021.

The Toy story The franchise began in 1995 and it was the first fully computer-animated feature film. Since the release of this iconic film, three more films have followed, each with a new idea, new characters, and new reasons to love the series.

Light year should be a spin-off and will follow the man who inspired the toy. While nothing is known about the plot or the cast (other than Evans’ involvement), a trailer would go a long way and create huge waves for the film, evoking the excitement of those who grew up with the Toy story movies.
