Australian punks Amyl and the Sniffers have been forced to cancel several upcoming performances after two band members contracted COVID while on tour.

Singer Amy Taylor and drummer Gus Romer have tested positive for the virus, according to a recent article from the group, which shows a rapid antigen test carrying these two fatal bars.

“FROM AGILE TO FRAGILE,” Taylor wrote on Instagram. “Amyl’s live in Barcelona and our appearances at the Jenny Beth and Trans Musicales Rennes festival are canceled because I (Amy) and Gus unfortunately tested positive for COVID. We’ll be right but I’m so sad to have to cancel. For New York when we know more. Love Amy Gus Dec Bryce lol. “

Despite the accompanying singer’s tearful selfie, it appears the group remains in high spirits about the diagnosis, writing that they are “very disappointed but safety and health first”.

Other dates for the Sniffers’ North American tour so far in support of the 2021 album Comfort for me appear unaffected. The group is expected to land for a trio of Canadian shows in May. See the full program here.
